Dear Mr. Wiesner:

The following information is provided in response to your email which I received yesterday.

In your email you asked whether I was permitting students or teachers to remain silent in the classroom on "Day of Silence?"   I have not been asked by students nor teachers if they can remain silent in the classroom.   In addition, you asked  if I was permitting teachers to create lesson plans to accommodate student silence?   I have not been asked by teachers for permission to create lesson plans to accommodate student silence.   And finally, you asked if Friday, April 3, 2011 is the day that "The Day of Silence" will be celebrated, if it is celebrated at my school.     April 3, 2011 has passed and was not a Friday.   If you were intending to ask about a different Friday in the future, my school has not designated any date as a "Day of Silence".

Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information regarding this matter.

Sincerely,

West Middle School Principal Pam Alfieri

East Middle School Principal Cathy Meyer-Looze

Central High School Principal Rick Vandermolen
